Terree Rola's Interests & Activities

Terree Rola has been known as The Frugal Foodie & her Food Fan Page started as "The Frugal Foodies," a group of friends who met through meetup.com in San Diego County who wanted to cook together in rotating locations/homes and enjoy culinary events/food festivals together. To keep things affordable for everyone, they volunteered as a group for many of these events in exchange for gratis entry to enjoy the event after their volunteer shifts. As members changed jobs, got married, and moved away, they began to see our numbers shrink a bit. However, this smaller core group start to expand their adventures into assisting the food community at culinary competitions, pop-up dinners, and catering jobs. The friends she made in the Food Industry during these events have made her aware of the need for assistance in social media in the Food Industry. And so, she has been offering advice and assistance to the smaller business owners who are on a limited budget. She also created "Chefs & Culinarians of San Diego," a private San Diego Food Industry insiders group as a trusted network for position openings & recommendations, community event promotions, equipment sales, and industry specials by restaurant suppliers/ restaurants. What started as a small group of 17 chefs, restaurant owners, food suppliers, purveyors, and event organizers, has grown from 15 to a private network of over 1500 food industry professionals - - all by personal recommendations and vetted through the original 17 members appointed by her.
